'Tis the Season

Thanksgiving seems to have flown by and now we are full swing in the Holiday season. The Thanksgiving weekend was wonderful. No work, only play. If only life could always be like that. On Tuesday though, it was back to harsh reality when I went back to work and was met with 5 days worth of mail. Ugh! It is definitely the busiest time of year and I can’t wait for the next long weekend at Christmas.
Julie received a scooter from one of my parent’s coworkers. I think that I had way more fun on it than she did. Fortunately, I was outside and finished playing the scooter before the camera man cam outside. Of course, as you can see, I wasn’t the only one having fun with the scooter.
I am now scheduling our activities for the next month. Today Helena, Stacy, and I went to a Holiday party sponsored by Stacy’s realtor. We had a great time and I’ll soon be posting a photo of Stacy and Helena sitting on Santa’s lap. Yes, I got out of that photo moment too. Stacy seems really close to her real estate agents. Of course, after buying and/or selling 5 homes in 10 years, I’m sure that their agents’ phone numbers are right under the in case of emergency phone number in her phone book. Anyway, stay tuned for that photo. Stacy also gave us the Christmas tree that she got from that event. The kids are exciting about have a real tree.
Tomorrow, Stacy, the girls, and me are going to a Sing Along Messiah performed by the Twin City Gay Men’s Chorus. http://www.tcgmc.org/ I am really looking forward to this concert. How often to you get to sing along at a concert?
The next couple of weeks are scattered with holiday events: A cookie exchange party at Day Care with some knee high entertainment and a holiday event at Rice Park in St. Paul…hope it warms up for that one. I’m also hoping to squeeze in the TCF Hollidazzle parade, the Macy’s Mary Poppins display, and a visit to the Como Park conservatory to see the Sunken Garden’s hundreds of varieties of Poinsettas. After all this, I’ll need way more than a four day weekend to recover but it will be worth it.
