Eric and Hannah's Wedding

We recently went back to South Dakota for my cousin Eric's wedding. It was so wonderful to be able to come home for a wedding since I missed weddings for my cousin Jeff and Mike while I was in Vermont. The wedding was so beautiful. Hannah was gorgeous and you could tell as she walked down the isle that Eric was entranced by her beauty and you could see how in love is he is. He had a smile that said, "Hell yeah that is MY wife!"

The minister was non-traditional but did an excellent job. I really liked his "comments you could have said when people asked you why you weren't married" speech. One of the comments was "I don't know, why aren't you skinny?" Another was "I'd rather spending my life wanting what I don't have then not wanting what I do have." I really liked the part when the minister said to Eric to be the first...be the first to say you're sorry...be the first to say you're forgiven...be the first to say you made a mistake.

The moment that is most in my mind though was during the dollar dance. Trinity was in line to dance with her dad and after she put a dollar in the hat, he grabbed her so tight like he was never going to let go and he spun her around the floor. Even as I write this the thought brings tears to my eyes.

It was a lovely ceremony and a great reception and dance. I drank, I danced, I watched my family members drink and dance which was probably more fun than me drinking and dancing.

Thank you Eric and Hannah! It was a great wedding and so wonderful to spend time with the family.
